Projects
Based
in Alberta, OPTIMUS operates around the world. Recent activities
involve major projects in Canada, USA, Russia, China, Yemen, and
the Caribbean. Other regions of activity include South America,
Northern and Offshore Africa, and several of the Independent States
of the CIS.

Active
or recently completed projects:
Restoration
of Oil Wells, Western Siberia
OPTIMUS played a leading role in the Appraisal and Negotiations
of several oil well restoration projects. Over nine hundred wells
were repaired within a three year period.

Production
Cost Reduction - Canada & Russia
| OPTIMUS
conducted a review of operating and repair costs, inventoried
operated equipment, conducted field tests to determine pump
efficiencies, reviewed equipment options for problem wells,
and made detailed recommendations. |

Hydraulic
Fracture Optimization, Canada
Asked to review current operations and make recommendations, OPTIMUS
conducted an extensive study; including the history matching of
production declines and fracture treatment pressure profiles.
The client provided a review of the reservoir geology and current
reservoir engineering concerns. As a result of the study and the
revised fracture programs, costs were reduced and the average
well production rate increased.

Project
Evaluation and Joint Venture Study, Russia
When a client proposed a joint venture agreement with a Russian
enterprise, OPTIMUS was asked to establish the potential for increased
production in an existing field. An operations review and reservoir
study were completed, and extensive laboratory testing was conducted
to establish the potential for formation damage control and removal.
A comprehensive equipment inventory and assessment was combined
with a field environmental assessment. The resulting report and
recommendations led to the successful signing of the agreement.

Supply
of Swabbing Equipment, Russia
 |
The
client approached OPTIMUS to improve the results of well workover
programs. OPTIMUS provided the Swab units, the first year
supply of consumables and repair parts, special tools, and
training for their operating staff and for their clients. |

Optimization
of a Chemical Treatment Program, Canada
Produced water from an initial chemical treatment program was
mixed with water from unique sources, then injected into the formation
for pressure maintenance, compatibility was a concern. Unfortunately
the chemicals had never been tested under reservoir conditions.
Results of the new testing program lead to the selection of a
new corrosion inhibitor for the water source wells and a reduction
in the concentration of demulsifier. The modified chemical program
arrested the injection decline in the pressure maintenance wells
as well as reduced the monthly chemical costs.

| Frac-Pack
Treatments for ultra-high permeable - consolidated rock, Middle
East |
Conventional frac-pack completions are usually applied to
high perm, soft rock. This projected involved the modification
of conventional methods to successfully fracture and pack
sandstone formations with ultra high permeable and moderate
rock modulus. |

Evaluation
of Frac-Pilot Projects for Production Enhancement in 3 oilfields,
mainland China

Completion engineering;
fracture design, supervision, and analysis; chemical testing,
selection and procurement, were services provided to the
client to assist with the evaluation of several production
joint venture agreements.
